LESLA Alliance organises and hosts community events that bring people together to celebrate shared heritage, promote learning and encourage civic participation across Long Eaton.
Our events are developed in line with our charitable aims and provide opportunities for volunteering, community engagement and public education throughout the year.
Our signature Windrush event is the Celebrating Our Community Gala, held each October. The gala combines heritage, reflection and celebration, creating space to recognise the contributions of the Windrush generation while raising funds to support our charitable activities.
The evening has featured respected public figures, including Frank Bruno MBE, David Olusoga OBE and Baroness Floella Benjamin OM, DBE, DL, who have contributed to shared learning and community dialogue. Read more.

Our events, whether ticketed or free, are designed to be:
• Welcoming and inclusive
• Intergenerational
• Rooted in shared heritage and learning
• Focused on community participation and connection
Events may include educational gatherings, heritage celebrations, seasonal activities and fundraising initiatives that support our charitable work within Long Eaton.

A Garden Party for the Community, by the Community.
Following the success of last year's Arts & Crafts Fair at the Wilsthorpe Tavern, Long Eaton, we're expanding the event into a bigger community celebration, bringing together local residents, businesses, charities, community groups, performers and food vendors for a fun-filled day for all ages.
We're currently inviting expressions of interest from:
• Food and refreshment vendors
• Community groups and charities
• Musicians, singers and performers
• Children's activity providers and entertainers
If you'd like to be part of the day be that to , share information, sell products, provide food, perform or support the event in another way, we'd love to hear from you.
There are different ways to be part of LESLA events:
• Attending and participating in educational and community activities
• Volunteering to support events on the day or behind the scenes
• Supporting events through fundraising or sponsorship in aid of our charitable work
Volunteering at events offers flexible opportunities to contribute to community life, whether you are able to help occasionally or support specific activities throughout the year.

The easiest way to stay up to date is to stay connected
