Making our community a better place for all!

LESLA Alliance is a registered charity in Long Eaton, strengthening community life through education, civic participation and purposeful community action.
We serve the wider Long Eaton community, bringing people together through educational events, volunteering opportunities and shared spaces that celebrate heritage, reduce isolation and encourage active participation in community life.
Our work continues to honour and preserve the legacy of the Windrush generation and their descendants as an important part of Long Eaton’s story.
LESLA Alliance exists to benefit the Long Eaton community.
Our work includes celebrating and preserving the legacy of the Windrush generation and their descendants, supporting older people and those experiencing isolation, and encouraging young people and emerging community leaders to participate actively in community life.
Everyone is welcome in all that we do. Participation is never dependent on supporter status or ability to pay.
Providing proportionate and short-term support to individuals experiencing hardship, isolation or disadvantage.
This includes companionship, practical assistance with essential needs, and signposting to appropriate services, helping people feel connected, valued and better supported within the community.
We bring people together across generations and backgrounds through volunteering, civic participation and shared community activities.
By creating opportunities for engagement and collaboration, we help build relationships and encourage active participation in community life.
We work in partnership with local organisations, groups and individuals to advance education, promote civic participation and provide appropriate relief of need within the Long Eaton community.
Collaboration and building alliances enable us to extend our reach, share expertise and deliver volunteering, learning and support opportunities more effectively.
Creating space for lived experience to be heard, respected, and recognised.
By amplifying community voices, we help ensure that local history, perspectives, and concerns inform future conversations and decisions.
Fundraising enables us to sustain and grow our charitable activities, ensuring they remain accessible and open to the community.
Through responsible, community-led fundraising and supporter contributions, we reinvest in educational programmes, volunteering opportunities and proportionate support initiatives within Long Eaton.

From heritage and learning events to volunteering activities, community gatherings and fundraising initiatives, LESLA Alliance runs programmes throughout the year that promote education, civic participation and connection within Long Eaton.
